Web Connection comes with two Rich Edit Controls: wwWebHtmlEditor and wwWebFckEditor.
The first is a very simple control that is fully self contained, and just relies on
a few images. It only works with Internet Explorer. The wwWebFckEditor control works
with the popular open-source FCK Editor which requires
downloading and installation for your Web site/application. FCK is a more complete solution and provides much richer
editing support and works with IE and Mozilla browsers.
Both controls
support basic WYSIWYG editing using the handful of tool options above. You can
also cut and paste and drag and drop any Html from another Web page directly into
this editbox. You can drag images into the control and then click on the image icon
to edit image properties. Both are ideal for pasting text from other applications
either in HTML or RTF format.
This form also demonstrates databinding to controls once again, and the wwWebRepeater
control on the right side of the page. The repeater allows you to build a repeatable
list with an item template that can contain Html, Controls and expressions which
is very powerful to display list data that doesn't fit a typical Grid format. The
big advantage of this control is that you can build composite cells in the script
code that can contain complex Html, and then have the repeater iterate over the
cursor or array to provide the data to embed into the repeater.
