Dear Rick:

This is Edward from Realty Information Systems writing again.

Your response about how to go about getting a program running on a hand held has proven invaluable.

The question that I have that needs to be answered it how is information going to go between a server and the handheld.

A vast majority of our clients are running our Visual FoxPro software on a server or work station.

Though we are looking into Citirx.

One of the main requests is going to be for Tenant Statements (Bills and Payment Information), which can be done in Text or PDF.

Directly connecting to the DBF files is NOT necessary since the requests are going to have to pass through the reports program.

Thus the Hand Held Unit it going to make a request for a Tenant Statement, the Server is going to process it and then send the results back to the Hand Held

The obvious way is to do this all through Emails and have an Email Listening program waiting for the requests.

I have actually done this before

or

Each Client could have an FTP site and the FTP Listening program would check the Web site for requests.

This actually would not pose much of a problem.

or

Is there some better solution like HTTP ???
