We’ve got a customer that’s asked us to implement a web server and West Wind Web Connection for them – we’re currently going through installing the shareware edition first then they will pay for the software once we’ve got it working and they’re happy with it.

We’ve got a fresh Windows Server 2012 R2 with IIS 8.5, ASP.NET 2.0, 3.5 and 4.0 installed and working.

I’ve gone through the installer with no issues, we’re using the Visual Fox Pro 9 SP2 Run-time libraries.

When we get the sample page up – anything we try to use on the sample page sits for a very long time, then eventually comes up with an error “This request too longer than the allotted timeout interval and was aborted – Message generated by Web Connection IIS Connector Module”.

I also tried a few functions on the admin page – but got the same results.

I had initially thought that perhaps it was the temp directory permissions as some people on the forum suggested – however I’ve confirmed the permissions are correct and I can see the temp files being written to the folder when I attempt to access one of those functions.

Is there anything we’ve missed during the installation – or anything we need to check to get this working normally?

Are you starting the fox pro server? And if so can you confirm it's looking in the right folder and for the right templet prefix?

Basically if the temp files are there the iis pieces are working and the problem is the fox pro server config.

Take a look at the troubleshooting guide in the documentation which takes you thru steps to check if requests are failing.
