Email Info Tab

The Email Info tab is used to configure the email notification that is sent when a Web Monitor Site Check fails or when a site that has gone down previously comes back up. Note that Web Monitor only sends email on the first failure and then again when the site comes back up.

To configure email operation set the following options:

List of email recipients
This entry field allows you to specify the email address of recipients. You can enter as many recipients as you like each on a separate line.

You can specify email formats in a few of ways:

  1. rstrahl@west-wind.com
  2. "Web Monitor" <rick@mydomain.com>
  3. 18081213211@att.txt.net*

The first is just an email address by itself. The second format allows you to specify a full name for the recipient in addition to the email address. The final format is for sending SMS messages using an Email to SMS gateway as most Cell phone providers allow for. Note the * at the end which signifies that this is an SMS address.

Mobile Phones and SMS Addresses:
You can send SMS messages to cell phones and pagers using the the phone or pager's Email to SMS gateway. Most providers have a gateway that let you receive SMS messages via email. For example AT&T uses: <10DigitPhoneNumber>@att.txt.net.

To specify an SMS email address add a * at the end of the line, to indicate SMS status. For example:

18081213211@att.txt.net*
